Our History
Based in Wokingham, Focus has been an established MGA for over 25 years. We started life as underwriters of construction products and are now specialists in this field. Over the years, we have vastly expanded our range of construction products whilst also developing our offering in the commercial and professional sectors. We are proud to provide our Brokers with a well-rounded range of products with wide policy wordings at competitive premiums.
We have worked with many of our insurer partners for several years – each has been selected with great care to ensure that our products are of the highest quality. In addition, the relationships we have forged with other leading insurers enable us to provide quotations on a prior submit basis for more complex risks.
Providing an excellent level of service is our priority, so each of our Brokers has a named Dedicated Underwriter whom they can contact at any time. Our Underwriters go above and beyond to meet the needs of our Brokers; they regularly write and bind cases on the same day as request. All our Underwriters are highly knowledgeable – they each hold, or are working towards, industry qualifications and continue to develop their skills through our training programme.

Focus is dedicated to giving every team member the opportunity to reach their full potential. We hold regular staff training sessions and are proud to boast that all our Underwriters are qualified, or will be within 12 months of joining us, to at least Cert CII level, with assistance provided to help them progress towards DIP and ACII qualifications.
We maintain a supportive, performance- and development-focused work culture which, in turn, leads to a high level of staff satisfaction and retention.
