During 2023/24, the construction industry accounted for the greatest number of work-related fatal deaths, with 51 workers killed in accidents – five times higher than the average rate across all industries.

The cost of insurance is rising; across the industry, prices in the UK doubled between 2018-2023. Meanwhile, products such as professional indemnity insurance - key cover within the construction sector – increased by up to four times as much.

With a new British government in power after the Labour Party’s landslide election win, much of the nation is now waiting to find out what changes are in store – and the construction industry is no exception.
